New market entry attracts and retains healthcare consumers
Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) sought to expand access to care by adding a new clinic in downtown Chicago to meet the needs of young, urban, and technology-driven professionals in the community. Goals included selecting a site with the greatest potential for success, combining the best retail experience within a clinic setting, and designing an operational model that could evolve with the latest in ambulatory care convenience and technology.
Through a tailored assessment of the local market, a prime location was chosen. Keeping a focus on flexibility and utilizing lean processes, ERDMAN designed and constructed a technologically advanced environment that represents the new standard of care for future RUMC clinics. Today, the Rush River North Clinic is a state-of-the-art environment that attracts and retains healthcare consumers. It also captures the spirit of downtown Chicago in a renovated, complex space to offer exceptional and convenient ambulatory care.
ERDMAN’s Integrative Thinking approach was unlike any we have come across, and was integral to our success. They created a market attractiveness index that informed our location decision and growth plan. They provided us with an operational model that could legitimately compete with our biggest competitors, and held full-day workshops and collaborative meetings with stakeholders to illustrate how it could be executed. This thought-out, hands-on approach was exactly what our organization needed. Our volume and other performance metrics have exceeded expectations for the first year in operation.
