Family Healthcare of Hagerstown is a Federally Qualified Health Center that offers a “medical home” environment, providing affordable primary, dental, and mental care at a single location. Seeking to overcome the challenges associated with rebranding and relocation, the client selected ERDMAN’s expertise as they embarked on an adaptive reuse of an unoccupied 1970s office building that offered better visibility and community access.
ERDMAN worked closely with Family Healthcare of Hagerstown to create a vibrant, spacious environment that includes integrated care team spaces. The four-story, multiservice clinic is warm and comforting, with features that include new energy-efficient MEP systems, a single check-in area, and a convenient color-coded wayfinding system. Today, the clinic serves an expanding patient population and is a beacon of care and support in the community.
I think ERDMAN is well aware that the standard for a healthcare facility is more than just bricks and mortar. We didn’t want to have to explain what an exam room should look like or how patient flow should operate. People have a lot of choices and why should they come to us over anywhere else? We’ve been here for about a year and a half, and there are very few things that we would change.
