Lehigh Valley Health Network Hecktown Oaks Campus

Built to bring comprehensive, high-quality care closer to home for the residents of Northampton County, the Lehigh Valley Health Network Hecktown Oaks Campus features a 201,000-square-foot hospital, 35,000-square-foot Cancer Institute, 60,000-square-foot health center, and an emergency room (ER) serving adults and children, with an area dedicated just for children.

Working with LVHN, ERDMAN designed the Hecktown Oaks Campus to incorporate LVHN’s new care model across inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency care environments. Programmatic planning informed provider, service line, and acute care bed needs while also considering critical adjacencies within the care delivery spaces, maximizing resources, and creating lean processes. The design incorporates evidence-based design features such as intuitive way-finding, natural lighting, peaceful views, and a healing garden. Enhanced safety and infection control measures contribute to controlling and eliminating the spread of germs. They include bacteria-resistant flooring, indigo clean lighting, rooftop HVAC units with HEPA filters and UV lights. 

This beautiful, functional, world-class healthcare campus is poised to grow with the community and serve the residents of Northampton County for years to come.
