Dean Waunakee Clinic

To better serve a rapidly expanding suburban population, SSM Health Dean Medical Group established a new clinic in Waunakee—relocating from a constrained site to one that would support long-term growth and operational evolution. This facility became a catalyst for advancing lean methodology and embedding patient-centered care throughout clinical workflows.

Through a collaborative 2P (process planning) event—including design charrettes and full-scale mock-ups—ERDMAN helped Dean reimagine care delivery from the ground up. The result is Dean’s first clinic fully aligned with lean and patient-centered medical home principles, offering streamlined operations, intuitive wayfinding, natural light, and a more efficient, welcoming experience.

The clinic expands access to family medicine, optometry, imaging, and lab services, while also reflecting Dean’s commitment to local economic investment—engaging only Wisconsin-based subcontractors throughout construction.
