GIS LEVERAGING SPATIAL DATA FOR HEALTHCARE PLANNING

Today, any data that has a spatial component can be imported, mapped and analyzed in GIS as part of an analysis that looks at multiple different components: competitors, demand, growth and contraction, demographic characteristics, consumer habits and payor composition, among many other applicable variables. GIS allows for the detailed segmentation and creation of markets based on all these different datasets and allows for even greater levels of analysis not possible using traditional methods.
